About
This blog is dedicated to those who suffer from ADD with or without hyperactivity. It is written and compiled by Byron Scheider LCSW, a mental health professional with ADD inattentive type, who was undiagnosed for most of his adult life. As a result, he struggled with classic ADD symptoms while believing his problems were caused by a character defect instead of a real brain condition. The relief he experienced when diagnosed and later assisted with medication was palpable. It assisted him to grow in the areas of focus, organization, and follow through. More importantly, it also created compassionate understanding within his family regarding a lifetime of failed “great ideas”, good intentions, and passionate interests that died due to lack of follow through and goal setting.
A noted author in the medical field reports the existence of millions of undiagnosed adults suffering from the effects of ADD and ADHD disorders. Information brought to this site by the author and links to other authors in the field are purposed to assist those of us who continue to deal with this real life brain condition.
